The valley witnessed 1,177 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours


KATHMANDU, Oct 3: Of the 12,749 COVID-19 cases recorded in the past one week in Nepal, 7,220 were detected solely in the Kathmandu Valley, which accounts for 56.63 percent of the total cases.

The Valley’s COVID-19 caseload has reached 27,718 with 1,177 new cases in the past 24 hours.


The number of new cases recorded in the Valley on Friday was 1,638. The number stood at 943 on Thursday, 902 on Wednesday, 934 on Tuesday, 817 on Monday and 809 on Sunday.


According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 1,001 new cases in Kathmandu, 67 in Bhaktapur and 109 in Lalitpur were recorded on Saturday.


Likewise, the Valley also recorded three death cases linked with COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. With this, the Kathmandu Valley’s COVID-19 death toll has climbed to 151.
