KATHMANDU, August 13: Nepal recorded 263 new cases of COVID-19 along with 501 recoveries and two deaths from the deadly virus on Saturday, according to the information released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 3,165 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 162 PCR and 101 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 5,499 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 5,228 are in self-isolation, 206 in institutional isolation, 61 in ICUs and four on ventilators. So far, 11,986 people have died from the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 94 cases of COVID-19 on Saturday. Of them, 47 cases were recorded in Kathmandu, six in Bhaktapur, and 41 in Lalitpur districts.
