Kathmandu district alone records 550 new cases 


KATHMANDU, April 20: Nepal recorded as many as 1,736 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.


According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 1,736 new cases of COVID-19 were detected through 8,055 PCR and 683 antigen tests in the past one day.

Similarly, the health ministry has also recorded 11 cases of fatality related to COVID-19 on Tuesday. Likewise, 251 people who had earlier tested positive for the virus recovered in the past 24 hours.


With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 case tally has reached 287,567 including 3,102 deaths.


Meanwhile, Nepal’s COVID-19 recovery rate has plunged to 95.9 percent. Earlier, the recovery rate was almost 99 percent.


There are currently 8,659 active cases of COVID-19 across the country.
