37 deaths linked to the COVID-19 recorded in the past 24 hours


KATHMANDU, May 3: Nepal recorded 7,448 new cases of COVID-19, which is so far the highest single day rise, in the past 24 hours.

According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), as many as 16,658 PCR tests and 518 antigen tests were conducted across the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 7,388 PCR tests and 60 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the COVID-19.


Similarly, as many as 2,021 people, who were earlier diagnosed with COVID-19, have recovered in the past 24 hours. Likewise, the country recorded deaths of 37 people due to COVID-19 across the country in the past 24 hours. This is so far the highest number of people dying of COVID-19 in a single day in Nepal.


There are currently 12 districts with more than 500 active cases and 21 districts with more than 200 active cases in the country.


Likewise, a total of 50,172 COVID-19 patients are in home isolation, 3,869 in institutional isolations, 5,78 in ICUs and 142 others on ventilators across the country as of Monday afternoon.
