Nepal witnesses sharp decline in COVID-19 cases, only 570 new cases recorded in past 24 hours

KATHMANDU, Oct 27: Nepal has recorded 570 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.


The figure is comparatively lower as the country witnessed a 4-digit rise in COVID-19 cases daily in the past few months.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population, of the 2,725 PCR tests conducted, only 570 new cases of coronavirus were detected in the past 24 hours.


So far, 160,400 people have contracted the virus in Nepal.


Similarly, as many as 3,168 people who were earlier diagnosed with COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours, taking the national COVID-19 recovery tally to 118,843.


The health ministry also confirmed 14 more fatalities linked with COVID-19 on Tuesday. With this, the number of people dying of COVID-19 in the country has reached 876.


There are currently 40,681 active cases of COVID-19 across the country.
