KATHMANDU, July 25: A meeting of the chief district officers of the three districts in the Kathmandu Valley – Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur – has decided to extend the ongoing prohibitory order in the Valley by 10 more days.
The ongoing prohibitory order was due to end on Sunday midnight.
With this decision in effect, the prohibitory order in the Valley will now be effective till August 4, according to a press statement issued by the District Administration Office, Kathmandu.

During this period, the government has restricted large gatherings of people, operation of party palaces, cinema halls, bars, clubs, swimming pools and museums etc.
The educational institutions are barred from conducting physical classes. Businesses can remain open till 7 PM.
Likewise, the public vehicles plying the roads in the Valley are restricted to carry passengers more than their seat capacities. Meanwhile, electric three-wheelers and mini-micro are not allowed to carry more than nine people at once.
Similarly, the institutions can conduct examinations in the physical presence of no more than 25 students in one room.
