Two police officers test positive for COVID-19; more than 200 to be sent to quarantine

Kathmandu: Two police officers at Metropolitan Police Circle, Kalimati, have tested positive for COVID-19, confirmed Senior Superintendent of Police Shyam Gyawali.

Kathmandu: Two police officers at Metropolitan Police Circle, Kalimati, have tested positive for COVID-19, confirmed Senior Superintendent of Police Shyam Gyawali.


Following the incident, no police officers have been allowed to leave the premises of the circle.

“The two officers were tested positive, after PCR tests,” Gyawali told Republica, adding that more than 200 police officers will be sent to self-quarantine following PCR tests in the afternoon.


According to Kalimati Police, representatives from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) are on their way to collect swab samples of all the police personnel in the circle.
