Three districts --Rautahat, Mahottari and Kailali--have more than 500 active cases each
KATHMANDU, Aug 3: Nepal has reported as many as 418 new cases of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infection in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases to 20,750.

As of Monday afternoon, 5,732 active cases have been reported from various isolation centers across the country, according to Dr Jageshar Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population. Of them, the highest number of cases is in Province 2 (2,357) while Gandaki has the lowest number of cases (272).
Dr Gautam, during the regular virtual press briefing of the ministry, said that a total of 14,961 patients have been discharged after attaining recovery, which accounts for 72.1 percent of the total infected cases.
Rautahat, Mahottari and Kailali ---have more than 500 active cases each as of today while Bhojpur, Sankhu, Manang and Mustang have reported no active cases.
As many as 57 people have succumbed to this viral infection, which is 0.28 percent of the total infection, according to Dr Gautam.
