7,889 COVID-19 patients recover as Nepal adds 8,173 new cases on Wednesday

KATHMANDU, May 19: As many as 7,889 COVID-19 patients recovered from the disease on Wednesday.


The health ministry also confirmed 8,173 new cases of COVID-19 on the same day.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 8,064 people tested positive through PCR tests and 109 through antigen tests.


Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 2,486 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. Of them, 228 were detected in Bhaktapur, 270 in Lalitpur and 1,988 in Kathmandu districts.


Similarly, Nepal recorded the highest single day COVID-19 death toll of 246 on Wednesday.
