Nepal records 2,526 cases, 8,425 recoveries and 16 deaths on Friday

KATHMANDU, Feb 4: Nepal recorded 2,526 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday along with 8,425 recoveries and 16 deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

KATHMANDU, Feb 4: Nepal recorded 2,526 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday along with 8,425 recoveries and 16 deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).


As many as 11,073 swab samples (including RDT antigen data received through SMS & Email) were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 1,602 PCR and 924 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 56,751 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 55,090 are in self-isolation, 1,367 in institutional isolation, 243 in ICUs, and 51 on ventilators. Similarly, 133 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,794 people have died of the viral infection across the country.


Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley alone recorded 745 cases of the virus on Friday. Of them, 570 were recorded in Kathmandu, 55 in Bhaktapur, and 120 in Lalitpur districts.
