KATHMANDU, August 12: Nepal recorded 781 new cases of COVID-19 along with 511 recoveries and two deaths from the deadly virus on Friday, according to the information released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 4,712 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 419 PCR and 362 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 5,846 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 5,565 are in self-isolation, 210 in institutional isolation, 63 in ICUs and eight on ventilators. So far, 11,984 people have died from the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 294 cases of COVID-19 on Friday. Of them, 212 cases were recorded in Kathmandu, 19 in Bhaktapur, and 63 in Lalitpur districts.
