BUTWAL, June 13: Three people lost their lives in a car accident in Butwal.


Police said that a car (Lu 2 Cha 8531) en route to Butwal from Nuwakot in Palpa met with an accident in Jit Gadhi, Butwal at 8:30 PM on Wednesday.


Area Police Office, Butwal, reported that car driver Ram Prasad Sharma, 56, hailing from of Putalibazar of Syangja and temporarily residing in Butwal-10; Aasha Shrestha, 57;  and Bhagwati Shrestha, 50 - both from Tilottama-3 - died in the accident.

The injured were taken to the Lumbini Province Hospital, Butwal for medical treatment. However, the doctor declared them dead.


Two individuals sustained injuries in the accident. The injured were identified as Chanda Shrestha, 56, of Milan Chowk, Butwal and Laxmita Shrestha, 46, of Horizon Chowk, Butwal-11.


The injured are undergoing treatment at Lumbini Province Hospital, Butwal. It is reported that their condition is stable.


Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bijaya Raj Pandit, Chief of the Area Police Office, Butwal, said that the car veered off the road, falling about 100 meters from the Jit Gadhi road.


According to police, they might have traveled to Nuwakot for a visit on Wednesday, and the accident could have occurred while returning. The cause of the accident has not been disclosed. An investigation into the incident is underway, according to the police.
